About

My Approach

Individual

I think we are much more complex beings than we give ourselves credit for. Because of that, my therapeutic work is open-ended and explorative. While learning new tools and skills are helpful, there is a plethora of resources outside of therapy that give you those skills for free. Instead, I like to create a space where we can explore your unconscious mind-- in other words, the automatic thoughts and behaviors that we engage in or don't engage in without even thinking about it.  I primarily focus on relational patterns with the idea that a lot of our presenting concerns are affected by our existence with others-- the way we understand and relate to ourselves will be manifested in how we interact with others and vice versa. In therapy, I strive to give clients more agency in deciding what changes they want to make, while I believe my job is to help identify the barriers that may be hindering them from implementing those changes. I want therapy to be a place where you have autonomy over your own life while helping you understand that life is not a "one-size fits all." What works for some people may not work for you, what works for you may not make sense to others, and that's okay- we will figure it out together.

Couples

In my work with couples, I focus on each partners' attachment styles and internal experiences while fostering an environment for each partner to share their experiences with each other. Whether your relationship is thriving, and you just want to continue growing as a couple or in need of a space to resolve a lot of tension and conflict, I aim to create an environment where each partner feels heard and understood and expanding that dynamic to be present outside of the therapy room. I believe it is my role to help each partner understand their own patterns within the unit and find ways in which they can navigate their tendencies in order to improve communication and intimacy.
